Our Guiding Philosophy
We can all benefit from responsible stewardship of our surrounding outdoor environment. For some of us, that means an intimate experience with tending plants for either enjoyment of their beauty or for their use as food. For others, it means installing and maintaining a low maintenance native garden that is also beautiful. In either case, knowing what to plant can help our environment as well as our sense of well being.
My Commitment to the Environment
My goal is to make myself available to help everyone make a commitment to environmental landscape design and care — no matter what their age, economic status or interest in gardening. I can do this as a design professional practicing my art, as a graphic designer offering photo images that inspire investment in the landscape, and as an educator teaching young and old alike about the importance of tending to the outdoors. By engaging in these activities with a wide variety of people, I hope that I can make the kind of connections that will bring us all together in the common purpose of making our world a better place to live.
Gardens by Design is located in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and we have proudly served clients in Central and Eastern Massachusetts since 1996.

Donna understood the kind of garden we wanted. Something fun and pretty and interesting — something that reflected our lifestyle.
